Master Investor - A Global Investor Collaboration Platform

The challenge

Burnbrae group acquired financial services and events companies with the vision to create a global investor collaboration platform, providing news, data and advisory to mainstream investors. The platform will also rely on strategic partnerships with trading platforms enabling their users to act on the information provided.


Advisory & Mentoring

Provided an interim CTO working with the CEO and CMO to deliver a 3 year business plan and present the technology at the group board meeting.

Strategy definition/review

Transform Master Investor into a content hub, redesigning from scratch the generation, management, publishing and distribution capabilities onto a new consolidated platform.

By separating content and presentation, MI will become a multi-channel content hub, reaching audience on desktop, mobile, social media and third party applications or digital products.

Become a data driven business Centralising operational data will help us understand our business, set key performance indicators, focus our efforts and create new revenue opportunities.

Business process modeling

Through workshops with each organisations and the management team of of the structure, Nebbiu produced a series of business process to maximise the efficiency of their content production, data collection and user journeys from information consumtion to trading on partner platforms.

Product roadmap

After establishing the initial and target product architectures, we produced a roadmap outlining the capabilities, business outcomes and organisational integration delivered at each development cycle. This roadmap will be a reference and evolve into a more detailed development plan.

Technology & suppliers

in order to transition from an agnostic design to the final platform, Nebbiu researched and organised workshops with multiple vendors to evaluate their products capabilities, ease of integration, support models and cost structures.

* dotCMS : Content management and product development

Enterprise grade content management system (CMS), quick to deploy, open source, Java-based, open APIs, extensible and massively scalable. Using dotCMS it will be possible to rapidly deliver personalized, engaging multi-channel sites.

* Amazon Web Services: Infrastructure: Amazon Web Services offers a broad set of global compute, storage, database, analytics, application, and deployment services that help organizations move faster, lower IT costs, and scale applications. These services are trusted by the largest enterprises.

Salesforce: Customer Relationship Manager: Salesforce.com provides business software applications as a pay-as-you-go service over the internet. Their customer relationship management (CRM) solution gives an instant visibility into leads, contacts, account, activities and the ability to drive sales revenue.

* Pardot: Marketing platform: Pardot offers a software-as-a-service marketing automation application that allows marketing and sales departments to create, deploy, and manage online marketing campaigns that increase revenue and maximize efficiency. Pardot features certified CRM integrations with Salesforce empowering marketers with lead nurturing, lead scoring, and ROI reporting to generate and qualify sales leads, shorten sales cycles, and demonstrate marketing accountability.

Talent & Culture

The aggressive development strategy envisioned by the new management team would require a solid core technology team, completed by a flexible and diversely skilled freelance pool and supported by vendor.

Nebbiu designed such an organisational structure, detailing each role, their skill sets, market-rate compensation and utilisation over the length of the project.

Budget planning

Based on the previous steps, a comprehensive 3 year technology budget has been prepared and presented part of the business plan to the board and CFO.
